Demographics

More females participated in the study than males.
Over 30% of the participants in the study were Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders.
HFB participants reported a higher proportion of post-secondary education attainment.

Health Metrics

This metric shows the risk of becoming diabetic. Individuals can be categorized into 3 groups: Normal, Pre-diabetic, and diabetic. For people without diabetes, the normal range for the hemoglobin A1c level is between 4% and 5.6%. Over 80% of participants in the study were normal, larger than any other organization that we have worked with.
This metric shows the risk of obesity. Individuals can be categorized into 3 groups: Normal, Overweight, and Obese. The result indicates that the HFB participants have a similar proportion of normal BMI compared to other organizations. However, they have a lower proportion of the obesity group.

Food Habits

The HFB participants reported the higher vegetable consumption in all indexes.
Around 70% of the HFB participants reported had no problem of food security with 20% of low food security and 7% of very low food security.
More than half of HFB participants reported that they and/or their partner cooked.

Socio-Economic Features

HFB participants reported a higher proportion of post-secondary education attainment.
The HFB participants reported a higher proportion of marriage than the comparison groups.
50% of HFB participants have an income of $50,000 and greater.
